The Cambridge French‐English Thesaurus

The Cambridge French‐English Thesaurus, compiled by Marie‐Noëlle Lamy, claims to be the first bilingual thesaurus of its kind. There are, however, bilingual thesauri available in specialist fields such as information science, medicine, geosciences and viticulture. Aimed at intermediate and more advanced students, the Cambridge thesaurus is perhaps most appropriate for ‘A’‐level students. More experienced speakers may wish to use it as a refresher for words they feel they ought to know, but will prefer to use Daniel Pechoin’s Thesaurus Larousse.
