Akhenaten: Egypt’s False Prophet

Nicholas Reeves is a well‐known British Egyptologist ‐ Director of the Amarna Royal Tombs Project and author of books such as Ancient Egypt: The Great Discoveries and The Complete Tutankhamun. This book re‐evaluates the evidence, largely from the Amarna excavations, about the life and works of Amenophis IV, better known as Akhenaten. This Pharaoh made a major break with tradition by abandoning the traditional Egyptian pantheon in favour of a single god ‐ the Sun.
