In the rapidly developing fields of DNA and genome analysis it is a challenge to find a reference dictionary that is both in‐depth and up to date. With over 1,000 documented references this work is well researched. Indeed, it is testament to Singleton's command of the field that the reference list is not longer. By focusing on the technical perspective, Singleton's Dictionary of DNA and Genome Technology offers much more detail than would be possible in a more general dictionary. Singleton has included “many items of new information first reported in mainstream journals within the last fifteen months” (p. vi)....
