This two‐volume encyclopedia is intended to complement the content identified by the US National Committee on Science Education Standards as appropriate for American high school or introductory college level students, grades 9‐12, equivalent in the UK to A‐level standard. It includes more than 200 entries covering topics, concepts, theories, methods and techniques, disciplines and sub‐disciplines, as well as biographies of scientist who have “made significant contributions to the physical sciences”.
