Bibliographically this is a first rate and most helpful reference book. Over 40 essays explore interdisciplinary crossovers between science and literature (less so the other way round) and offer the reader extensive further reading which will also help the librarian with collection building. Its focal readership consists of students studying appropriate courses and their teachers, as well, beyond that, of researchers and scholars. Some sixty of so international commentators contribute to the book and their work has been coordinated by Bruce Clarke (Texas Tech University USA) and Manuela Rossini (Swiss Academies of Arts and Science in Bern, Switzerland).
