Bud Hannings' The US-Mexican War is a chronology of the war from 1816 to 1848. The main focus is on military actions, but it also discusses the annexation of Texas by the USA and other incidents before the war began. One thing it does not discuss is the politics behind various actions. The book is organized by date.
