When I worked for the Department of Health and Social Security Library Services one of my jobs was to produce an abstract bulletin on Occupational Diseases, and I know from the feedback I got that there is a market for highly targeted abstract journals. Within their limited area they are usually comprehensive. They can be read on the train and they can be passed around.
