I marvel at the diversity of the information packed into this supremely useful annual publication ‐ and at its authority and currency. This year’s volume reaches early December 1996, with the “Calendar of political events” spanning the 12 months from 1 November 1995 to 31 October 1996. As in earlier editions, the tripartite arrangement of General survey, Country surveys, and Regional information, continues.
