Aircraft of the Second World War: The Development of the Warplane 1939‐45

By educational background being a classical Aristotelian, I expect things to start at the beginning, proceed through their middle and reach an end; but sometimes I can accept the wisdom of starting in the middle. In launching a new series on the technical development of the aeroplane, it probably makes commercial sense to start with the Second World War as this seems still to be the most popular selling period in aviation literature.
