An Encyclopaedia of the History of Classical Archaeology

This book can probably be used in two ways. It acts as a simple dictionary of classical archaeology providing entries for topics such as Arretine Ware ( a fine red gloss pottery) or Kerameikos (a district of ancient Athens). Most reference libraries will, however, already have standard sources for answering queries on these topics. The primary purpose of this book is to provide dictionary‐style information as to the way these topics have been studied by archaeologists and antiquaries.
