The Year’s Work in English Studies 76, 1995

The newest instalment of the English Association’s annual bibliography of writings on English language and literature consists of three elements. At the beginning come 71 pages of abbreviations, divided into those for publishers and (preceding it) those for journals, series and reference works. At the end there come over a hundred pages of indices, which are likewise paired, with one for authors and topics discussed and (preceding) one for the critics discussing them (thus it is possible for a contemporary author who also writes criticism to be listed in both indices).
