Linking of colours with literature is not a concept I would have considered had I not read the Preface to this volume. Yet we have “yellow backs”, White papers, blue books, red data books and green papers. Although it has been around now for some time, the term “grey literature” appears finally to have become accepted, albeit still difficult to define.
