“This dictionary has had a long gestation and a complex evolution”. So wrote our reviewer (RR 96/356) of the first hardback edition of this work in 1996. A paperback reprint presents no great or unexpected further complications to that complex evolution. This is a straightforward reprint with no apparent emendation of or additions to the text.
