Any book that makes it to the fifth edition ought to be good, and I am inclined to think that this one is. Robert Day is a Professor of English who, for 19 years, directed the publishing programme of the American Society for Microbiology. He has a great sense of humour, and illustrates his points with, as he calls them, bloopers (howlers is the word I would use) with the intention of making the reader laugh.
