This is the third in a projected ten‐volume work to be issued under the general title of Dictionary of World Biography. The two already issued cover the Ancient World, and the Middle Ages. To follow are one volume on the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, a two‐volume work covering the nineteenth century, then three volumes devoted to the twentieth century, and finally a volume providing an index to the whole.
