The initial and most important point to be noticed about this volume is that it is the first soft‐cover (1998) edition of the 1988 library‐bound volume published by McFarland. Shakespeare didn’t write anything new in that ten‐year interval, but there was always the chance that the compiler wanted to add some new quotations, or some new subject headings. He hasn’t, so this is a straight reprint. In other words, libraries already possessing the 1988 volume don’t need this one.
