David Bailey: Archive One, 1957‐1969

My youth seems to jump off every page of this magnificent collection; the book had, not unnaturally, the same effect on my wife but, interestingly and less expected, also on my daughter and son who were not even born when these photographs were first made and published. Such is the power of these outstanding images: they are far more than an evocation of the original Cool Britain (when it really was), but are works of photographic art in their own right.
