The Faerie Queene: 2nd edition: A Reader’s Guide

This guide of Elizabeth Heale’s was first published in 1987 and reprinted twice since then. The second edition now before us is substantially revised. Not only is the introduction entirely rewritten, but the text has been amended in the light of recent scholarship. Dr Heale is at the University of Reading, and she has also been a visiting lecturer at the University of Illinois. She is an acknowledged expert in the history of English literature in the Elizabethan age, as is witnessed by another book of hers, Wyatt, Surrey and Early Tudor Poetry, which was issued in 1998.
