I am unsure about the implication behind the series title, but can have no argument with the approach and content of these two books. They do usefully present another view of history, that of women in the generally male‐dominated world of 19th Century Europe (although the period for one of Europe’s greatest powers of the time is named after its Queen), and similarly the USA.
