Alice Walker

Alice Walker, born in Eatonton, in Georgia, in the deep south of the USA is a widely read author at schools and colleges throughout her native country. Her most widely read novel, The Color Purple, published in 1983, is a deeply moving work drawing on its author’s Afro‐American heritage.
