The coinage of England was issued in much greater quantities than those of the other parts of these islands and, consequently, the latter have given rise to fewer books. This is the first catalogue of its kind since 1984. The details given of each coin are mostly similar to those in its predecessor: the denominations and dates of issue, obverse and reverse types, inscriptions (with translations where necessary) and illustrations, at actual size, of both faces.
