While mainly considering the patterns of publishing in international government organisations (IGOs) this text also finds space to consider collection development, and reference and information work with international publications. Expanded from the first edition in 1988, this volume was well in progress when Peter Hajnal wrote the chapter on international organisations for my own volume on official publications (Information Sources in Official Publications. Bowker Saur, 1997, RR 98/2). That chapter was just a taster for this very detailed volume edited from a very wide range of international contributors.
