A Glossary of Contemporary Literary Theory 4th edition

This is the fourth edition of Jeremy Hawthorn’s A Glossary of Contemporary Literary Theory, first published by Routledge in 1992. The appearance of a fourth edition within the space of eight years reflects demand for such a volume and Hawthorn’s desire to keep his glossary updated. In “Using the glossary” its compiler explains the “conventions of presentations”, the “criteria for the selection of terms”, and appends “a list of most of the terms included in it grouped according to their intellectual associations or origins” (pp. ix‐xiii).
