This ninth volume in the attractively produced Broydd Cymru series of Welsh‐language guides to the traditional regions of Wales is exceptionally well researched. In keeping with the aim of the series, the focus is local history; the region’s contributions to Welsh and international culture, politics and science; notable personalities; principal industries and occupations; and architectural features of interest. Salient facts are assembled from a very wide range of Welsh‐language publications and other sources, many of them no longer easy to find. The result is a vivid, accurate picture of the region.
