We are told in the blurb to this work that:

There are over 1,000 entries, comprising 403 titles of specialist books and pamphlets, 493 subsequent editions and variants, and 158 patents. Most of these are in English, but French, German, Italian, Swedish, Afrikaans, Chinese and Japanese languages are also represented. In his introduction, the author, David Drazin, details the scope, arrangement, description and analysis and usage of the various entries. He explains the system of fingerprinting, and details patent procedure and terminology and methods of patent searches. There is a glossary of abbreviations and symbols that is useful.
