Encyclopedia of Contemporary Latin American and Caribbean Cultures

Volumes in the excellent Routledge series of country cultural encyclopaedias are getting pretty thick on the ground now, though this is the first multi‐volume one I have come across. Weighing in at three volumes, three General Editors, 19 Consultant Editors and 371 contributors, it is thick! It does, however, conform to the general format of other volumes in the series. A general introduction is followed by a thematic listing of contents where specific topics are grouped under broader subjects, and then into the main alphabetical sequences of subjects, itself followed by a brief bibliography and a substantial 127‐page index.
