This is not a biographical dictionary/encyclopaedia of women — none of the thousand topic headings features a personal name. The subject of the work is in its sub‐title: Global Women’s Issues and Knowledge. The phrase “Women’s Issues” seems clear enough ‐ Abortion, Anorexia nervosa, Equal opportunities, and Veiling all feature, and a women’s “spin” is given to a large number of more general topics ‐ it is “Women’s Knowledge” that is the interesting and novel term.
