The Cambridge Ancient History (CAH), originally designed to take its place with the Cambridge Medieval History, and the Cambridge Modern History, to provide a continuous history of the peoples of Europe, was first published in 12 volumes, 1923‐1939. Like all the Cambridge co‐operative histories, each chapter is contributed by a different historian, working under the guidance of a central corps of editors.
