This new dictionary is scheduled to provide the full names of more than 720,000 abbreviations and acronyms of institutions and organizations worldwide in 14 volumes. Information on coverage ranges from Agencies and Associations to Unions and Universities. Colloquial as well as official forms of name are covered, and old ones (if still “valid”, the AAL is still in) as well as current ones. Sources used to compile the database included “websites, statutes and journals of associations, yearbooks, all kinds of publications by national and international institutions and organizations, companies, associations and many more”.
