The Modern Word delights in the language, writing, and pervasive connectivity of postmodern literature. The site contains all manner of information detailing the life and work of approximately 40 twentieth century authors from around the world.

The site comprises three primary sections: the main page (or rotunda), the libryinth, and the omphalos.
