Barry Bloomfield, the most distinguished librarian and bibliographer, completed the revised and enlarged edition of his bibliography of the poet and librarian, Philip Larkin (1922‐1985) before he died on February 26, 2002 at the age of 70. Bloomfield’s first edition of the bibliography of his colleague Larkin was first published in 1979. At the time Larkin, notoriously difficult to please, wrote to Bloomfield “I deeply admire it all, apart from the top‐class bibliographical standards, it astonished me that you have done it so quickly.”
