This book in which the articles are the work of several experts on the period, is basically an analysis of the many papers, written mainly in the 1970s about science and medicine in eighteenth century Scotland. It is very well documented and although it does not provide an overall review of the nature of science and medicine in Enlightenment Scotland, it does deal with specific questions and answers about scientific provision at this time.
