The World of Learning advances successfully into the electronic realm with the recent addition of its online counterpart. (The print version of this well‐known reference title, a guide to world universities, higher education and related institutions, has previously been reviewed in Reference Reviews (1999/141, 1997/175)).

Both basic and advanced search options are available, and the pleasing choice of colours, readable text, and tasteful images lead users through the functions without feeling overwhelmed.
