This guide is yet another example of the excellent Footprint Handbooks to exotic locations. Both authors have extensive experience of travelling in South American countries and Ben Box also has a doctorate in Spanish and Portuguese studies from the University of London.

The guide takes the usual Footprint format starting with an introduction to Peru and its highlights, including some lovely colour photographs and maps. There follows an extensive chapter on planning a trip, where and when to go, details of tour operators, language and finding out more about the country.
