The area known as the Staffordshire Potteries lies to the north of the county to the east of Newcastle‐under‐Lyme. It originally comprised various towns and villages which are now grouped together in the modern city of Stoke‐on‐Trent, incorporating the six main towns of Tunstall, Burslem, Hanley, Stoke, Fenton and Longton.
