Regular readers of Reference Reviews will be familiar with Footprint publications. Although travel guides from other publishers are occasionally featured in these pages, those from Footprint receive relatively frequent treatment. There are several reasons for this. First, Footprint is obliging in the provision of review copies and conscious of the reference value of their titles to libraries. Second, the guides are produced in the UK and, while not specifically aimed at the British tourist, take a different perspective from those published in the USA and mainly designed for the American abroad.
