Encyclopedia of Race and Ethnic Studies

The study of race and ethnicity, as a separate field of enquiry, is relatively recent. The language and vocabulary used within this field are both developing and subject to change and revision. It is a field that can be politically charged and one that is highly influenced by real world events.
