Bibliographic Guide to Chicana and Latina Narrative

In 1848, at the end of the Mexican‐American war, a large section of land that was part of Mexico was sold to the USA for 15 million dollars. The treaty guaranteed that Mexicans living in this area, which now includes parts of Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, California and Nevada, would have the same rights as Americans.
