A Derrida Dictionary

Jacques Derrida's critical engagement with the metaphysics of meaning challenges modern readers in many ways. Moving on from Saussure's structuralism of signifier‐signifieds and the phenomenology and hermeneutic of Husserl and Heidegger, Derrida has made his deconstructive analysis of discourse distinctively his own. Many have met his ideas as students and this is clearly the target audience for Lucy's dictionary, along with lecturers and interested general readers. Lucy teaches English and Philosophy at Murdoch University in Australia and his work in this field (Lucy, 1995, 2000) may also be known to readers of this review.
