First published in 1988, The Oxford Dictionary of Art is now in its third edition. Revised, updated and expanded this edition comes seven years after the second, and has changed so much from its previous incarnations that the name of its original editor, Harold Osborne, is now omitted. Almost every entry has been amended, some have been expanded, and there are around 200 additions, including entries on Damien Hirst, Rachel Whiteread, and the Musée d'Orsay.
