Ancient Europe 8000BC‐AD1000: Encyclopedia of the Barbarian World

If, as we do, we compare the Internet unfavourably with the selection and organization of materials in a library, then we are also indicating the continuing value of a good encyclopedia – whether general or specialist – against the random conglomeration of Web sites, TV programmes, DVDs, magazines and the rest.
