Encyclopedia Mythica

Encyclopedia Mythica was previously reviewed in these columns five years ago (RR 2000/173). Having recently celebrated its ninth anniversary it remains an impressive collection of the world's mythology, folklore, legends, heroes, gods, goddesses, and mythical creatures. Founder and Chief Editor Micha F. Lindemans has written the great majority of the 6,588 entries, but there have been 213 other contributors, ranging from highly specialized scholars to middle school students, and we know this because there is a list of contributors detailing exactly the number of articles each contributor has written.
