The SAGE Dictionary of Statistics is a compact one‐volume dictionary of key concepts in the field of statistics. This useful work is intended as a quick reference tool primarily for non‐specialists, and although the authors identify their target audience as researchers in the social science disciplines, it surely has a wider appeal than this. I can imagine its usefulness for students, managers and practitioners in many areas (certainly in library and information science), and it would be a handy vade mecum for those who need to read and interpret statistical reports, as well as those responsible for their compilation.
