The Blackwell Companions to Cultural Studies series aims to provide “theoretically ambitious but accessible volumes” devoted to the major fields and sub‐fields within Cultural Studies, as single disciplines (such as Film Studies) or as interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary studies (such as Race and Ethnic Studies, Postcolonial Studies and the present work). Each volume seeks to ground and orientate students, and to give experienced teachers and scholars comprehensive overviews of the latest trends and critical directions. Ten volumes have so far appeared.
