International Organizations first appeared in 1983 and its most recent edition was published in 2001. This new edition lists 220 organizations, mostly inter‐governmental, but some non‐governmental, e.g. the International Commission of the Red Cross. The entries vary in length roughly according to the stature of the organization. Thus about one‐quarter of them are short, listing the name, date of foundation, objectives, member nations, official and working languages, headquarters address with contact details, and publications if any.
