This two‐volume, 674 page work makes a bold claim to be an international encyclopedia to youth culture but the editors humbly admit that it is a “work in progress” and will need to be continually updated to reflect future cultures and subcultures. Unlike with a traditional encyclopedia the editors invited contributions that were not all scholarly in the traditional sense, but written by experts and participants in the culture they describe. Some of the resulting contributions are autobiographical chapters, others poetry and rap.
