The newly published Glossary of Library and Information Science in English‐Chinese and Chinese‐English is a welcome and long‐awaited reference resource for Chinese‐speaking librarians, library students and vendors all over the world. The last time an authoritative and popular English‐Chinese/Chinese‐English dictionary of library and information science was published was over 20 years ago (Li, 1984). That was before the ubiquitous internet revolutionised the way we search for information, and certainly long before the terms “blogs” and “wiki” were invented.

Without doubt, this new publication fills the void created by the passing of time and technological advances in the library...
