Trésor de la Langue Française Informatisé

It s not very often that Reference Reviews can report the bargain sale of a national treasure, but here we have an exception. In autumn 2006 the CNRS announced a cut in the price of the CD‐ROM of the Trésor de la Langue Française Informatisé – a prestigious French historical language dictionary – from €79 to€ 49. The Trésor first appeared on CD‐ROM in November 2004 with a Mac version released in November 2005. The complication is that in an extremely generous gesture ATILF and Université Nancy 2 mounted a version of the dictionary on a freely available web site...
