Korean Art from the Gompertz and Other Collections in the Fitzwilliam Museum: A Complete Catalogue

Korean art has a long history and an outstanding artistic tradition. It is, though, rather overshadowed by the art of its neighbours, China and Japan. The introduction of Korean art to a Western audience has been due largely to the work of Geoffrey St George Montague Gompertz (1904‐1992), who became a learned connoisseur of its works of art and one of the foremost authors and scholars in the field.
