First Supplement to James E. Walsh's Catalogue of the Fifteenth‐Century Printed Books in the Harvard University Library

The late James E. Walsh spent nearly 50 years at Harvard University's Houghton Library, much of it as a cataloguer. One of that now increasingly rare breed of “scholar‐librarians”, his crowning achievement was A Catalogue of the Fifteenth‐Century Books in Harvard University Library (Walsh, 1991‐1997) completed in five volumes. This recorded 3,517 editions in 4,187 copies held in all libraries of the Harvard system.
